Emergency dental services we provide

Emergency Root Canal Therapy

Tooth pain often occurs when decay or infection reaches the inner pulp. In many cases an emergency root canal is the most effective way to eliminate pain and save the tooth.

Chipped or Broken Tooth Repair

If part of the tooth breaks off, save the pieces and bring them with you. Wherever possible we repair and preserve the natural tooth.

Emergency Tooth Extraction

Severe pain may indicate advanced decay, infection or damage. If a tooth cannot be saved, removing it relieves pain and prevents further complications.

Knocked-Out Tooth

Hold the tooth by the crown, rinse it gently, keep it moist and get to us immediately. Prompt intervention can allow us to reposition it in the socket.

Lost Filling or Crown

An exposed tooth is vulnerable to fracture and infection. We re-cement or replace the restoration and protect what is underneath.

Dental Abscess

Facial swelling and severe throbbing pain need same-day attention. Untreated infection can spread beyond the tooth.

When should you seek urgent dental care?

Why immediate attention matters

If you delay your visit, the suffering increases — and so does the cost. What could have been a filling becomes a root canal; what could have been a root canal becomes an extraction and an implant.

For a knocked-out tooth in particular, time is the deciding factor. Hold it by the crown, rinse it in water or milk without scrubbing the root, and come straight in. Prompt action means our dentist may be able to reposition it in the socket.

Even where the tooth cannot be saved, early treatment prevents infection spreading and keeps your options open for replacing it well.

What to expect during an emergency visit

First

Get you comfortable

Pain control comes before anything else. We assess, anaesthetise and stop the pain.

Then

Diagnose properly

Digital X-rays and, where needed, CBCT imaging identify exactly what has happened and how far it has gone.

Finally

Treat and plan

We carry out the definitive treatment where possible, or stabilise it and book the follow-up before you leave.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How much does emergency dental treatment cost?

Our emergency exam special is $29*. Treatment beyond the exam may be slightly more expensive than routine care depending on the urgency and the procedures required — you will always get the price before we begin.

Can I be seen today?

Yes. We hold same-day emergency slots and see both new and existing patients. Call (817) 720-0121 as early in the day as you can.

What can I do before I get to you?

For pain and swelling, a cold compress on the outside of the jaw helps, and over-the-counter ibuprofen may manage discomfort if it is safe for you. Save any broken fragments and keep a knocked-out tooth moist.

Do you treat emergencies for people who aren’t existing patients?

Yes. Emergency appointments are open to new patients — you do not need to have been seen here before.
