The chewing surfaces of molars are covered in pits and fissures far too narrow for a toothbrush bristle to enter. Food and bacteria settle in, and decay begins quietly. A sealant fills those grooves with a thin protective resin.
There is no drilling and no anaesthetic. For most patients the whole thing is done in a single, comfortable appointment.

Once cured, a sealant stands up to normal chewing for years. We check it at every routine visit and top it up if needed.

We check the teeth to be sealed. If any decay is present, it is removed first — we never seal a cavity in.
A conditioning solution is applied so the sealant material bonds reliably to the enamel.
The sealant is painted carefully into the grooves and hardened with a specialised curing light. That’s the whole process.
